Milwaukee Region Solo test n tune info

Milwaukee Region is holding a test and tune at Miller Park on July 15th. The event is capped HARD at 40 entrants and there are no more spots available. The test & tune will run from 9 am - 4:30 pm, and you will be required to work one 1.5 hr shift.  To keep the wait times to a minimum, we will have two timed courses running all day.  Time between run will be about 5-6 minutes, and we will run from mini grids to avoid the annoying creep lines to actually give you a chance to check pressures and make adjustments.  Courses will be about 30 seconds in length.

I was originally going to use both our spring driver's school courses, but all the national events I've been to this year led me to the conclusion that we need one course with some slower elements.  At this point I have no reason to not expect this trend to continue at Nationals at HPT.

So, the plan currently is to use a variation of the test course Andy Hollis created for this past Friday (the "slow" course) and a faster course on the east side.  Both with have a mix of slaloms, sweepers and offsets.  My hope is people realize they need to make a car work in both slow and fast elements and spend time on both courses.  My fear is that everyone will run on the "fast" course because it is more fun/exciting.

DON'T fall into that trap!  If you optimize your car to only work in the fast stuff, I think you will be very regretful at Topeka.

Also, to keep the weather speculators from making this a money losing even for us, there will be no refunds after July 8th.

One last thing.  If you are a licensed Solo Safety Steward and will be at the test & tune, please e-mail me privately.  We may want/need you to be an acting SSS for your work assignment.

Your test & tune event chair,

Steve Wynveen
