SCCA Junior kart guidelines
The
national Solo
rule book has two junior kart classes, FJA for kids age 12-18 and FJB
for 8-12 year olds. Please see the
general waiver and
minor
waiver forms. Must be printed in COLOR!! Minor waivers
can/should be filled out before attending the events.
125/80cc shifter karts and anyone over 18 must run in the F125 class. See
Appendix G from the
rule book which talks about general kart topics including the F125
and Formula Jr rules.
8-11
year old Junior drivers using the World Formula engine in FJB will be
required to use a carburetor restrictor. Due to member and SEB feedback it
was determined that the WF engine at 13hp was a little too fast for the
younger drivers (See
May 2005 Fastrack).
The
FJB restrictor requirement for World Formula engines which was withdrawn
in the past due to supplier issues has been reinstated, with an approaching
deadline for competitor conformance of April 24th. The contact information
for the supplier is as follows: Eric Nelson, Seventh Gear work
phone: 888-717-7223; URL: www.seventh-gear.com; E-Mail:
sales@seventh-gear.com; US
Mail Address: 125 Santa Clara St., Unit 6, Arcadia, CA 91006
I would advise those of you who have a WF junior driver in FJB to contact
Chuck, ASAP. Likewise, if any of you know any WF FJB drivers, please pass
this information along so we can all be on the same page once the tours
and pros come around to your areas.
