But not so nice here. Lost brakes going into T12/Canada Corner, went through the gravel trap and tagged the tire wall. I managed to turn it enough so that I hit on an angle but not so much that the left side would dig in and roll me.

"In todays lesson we learn how to unbolt a fender and pound it out". Notice the gravel from T12 on the ground. It got into everything. The good news is that it's just cosmetic damage.

1999 Road America
I didn't get a qualifying time so I start at the end of the field. On the 1st lap I pass Bryan, he passes me and I pass him back for good. As I work my way through traffic I get a scare coming around T5. It would have been easier to go to the right but I'd had enough of gravel traps. I choose to go left and miss him by a good 2 ft. Chris Giesen (Datsun 210 in mirror) hit the brakes and stopped just short of T-Boning the 240Z, who would go off again in T1 later on. Thanks to the corner workers for the quick yellow (caught you out of the corner of my eye off to the right just as I turned in).

James is the next car ahead of me and I catch him at the Carousel.

1999 Road America
I get a good run and pull up next to him entering the kink. Stuck on the outside, he backs out of it. I maintain a 10 car length lead for the rest of the race, do my best to stay out of the faster cars way and it's on to my first victory! Next race, Aug 15th at Blackhawk Farms.
